Today our 2013-2014 school year officially began! This was Emma’s first day of homeschool ever, and she was excited to get rolling with second grade. This is CJ’s 5th year of homeschooling over the course of his 13 years of school (not five in a row). It seems impossible he is a senior, despite the fact he reminds me regularly that he is off to college in just one year. It was a fun day – breakfast delivery from their Dad & Principal, photos (not so fun for them, but Teacher Mama insists on traditions), and we introduced everyone to all of their books, materials, etc. We just organized our homeschool room, so it was great to break it in. As always, we will adjust as we go. Lots of trips from the upstairs office to the basement school room as we figure out where we want everything to go. I am overwhelmed today by how grateful I truly feel to have the privilege of spending the day teaching these two! Many years ago, I put heart and soul into teaching 100 kids each day, and now it can all be invested in these that I love so much. Here’s to new beginnings!
